The cascadeing opening with full stops and then turning organ off. This reliefs air to pipes gradually as pressure falls. Ostinato bass pedals make modulation until no air pressure is left in pipes, -silence. Using one stop manually to regulate air pressure to pipes gives the glissando effect in the further bars
